We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to contribute to our LiDAR system design and development. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of engineers that have diverse expertise in light sources, beam delivery, light collection, photodetector, embedded system, and software to create market-leading LiDAR systems. The position requires an understanding of opto-mechanical component design, electro-opto-mechanical system packaging, mechanical tolerancing, and thermal reliability analysis.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Conduct component modeling and opto-mechanical system analysis
- Document opto-mechanical system design and tolerance analysis
- Evaluate prospective vendors and technologies for mechanical components
- Develop subsystem-level specifications for next-generation products
- Design new opto-mechanical systems that meet the subsystem-level specifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- MS degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with designing for high-volume manufacturing
- Experience designing packaging for fiber optics or integrated photonics
- Experience with mechanical design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and COMSOL
- Hands-on experience in machining and testing prototype devices
- Capable of critical analysis, troubleshooting, testing and characterization
