We are seeking a talented Optical Engineer to contribute to our LiDAR system design and development. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of engineers that have diverse expertise in light sources, beam delivery, light collection, photodetector, embedded system, and software to create market-leading LiDAR systems. The position requires an understanding of lens design, opto-mechanical system design, optical tolerancing, and modeling.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Conduct component modeling and optical system analysis
- Document optical system design and tolerance analysis
- Evaluate prospective vendors and technologies for optical components
- Develop subsystem-level specifications for next-generation products
- Design new optical systems that meet the subsystem-level specifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- MS degree or equivalent in Optical Engineering or related field
- Experience with designing for high-volume manufacturing
- Experience with optical design softwares such as Zemax, Code V, and OSLO
- Hands-on experience with optical systems
- Capable of optical system alignment, critical analysis, troubleshooting, testing and characterization
- Experience with opto-mechanical system design and tolerance analysis
BONUS POINTS:
- Ph.D. in Optical Engineering or related field
- Automotive sensor experience
- Practical knowledge of electro-optical and fiber optics components
