System Engineer

We are seeking a talented System Engineer to lead our LiDAR system development, integration, and test. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of light sources, beam delivery systems, light collection system, high quality photodetectors, embedded system, and application software to create market-leading LiDAR systems. The individual will focus on bringing new products from prototype to production, from component-level prototype testing to evaluation of final product performance. He/she will also be responsible for troubleshooting the system and defining the design constraints for next-generation products.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

    • Lead the team of engineers for LiDAR system development, integration, and test
    • Conduct system verification and validation tests
    • Document system performance and subsystem interfaces
    • Validate system performance models
    • Work closely with the Product Manager and develop system-level requirements for next-generation products

REQUIREMENTS:

    • MS degree or equivalent in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, or related field
    • 5+ years of optical system design and analysis experience
    • Practical knowledge of optical, electro-optical, and opto-mechanical components
    • Experience with design of experiment (DOE/DOX), critical analysis, troubleshooting, and characterization
    • Ability to lead and collaborate in team environments

BONUS POINTS:

    • Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Optics, or related field
    • Embedded system design experience (VHDL or Verilog)
    • Automotive experience
    • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
